16-272-3

16 hours together
272 steps up
3 states in one day

Kaori and Tomomi came to town! And Ning Yi too! Gosh, it was awesome to simply relax with my fellow IH-ers again. Can't believe it has already been one year since our Aussie adventure.

First stop: Petaling Street. While strolling pass stalls and stalls of fake bags, vendors were trying to get my Japanese friends' attention. One kept on calling them 'kawai' (cute) and the other, who i assume don't know one bit of Jap but wants to be noticed nonetheless, said 'ajinamoto'. What the heck?

There, they were introduced to the best lo han ko drink in the world, beef noodle, dragon fruit and jambu air. I didn't know what jambu air is in English so i told them that it's water guava. Haha! My English so the fail lah...

Surprisingly, i managed to lead us to Central Market without getting lost! Not bad eh for a girl who only visits the city once in a blue moon? Oh, coincidentally, Ida Nerina and three other unknown local stars were there filming a scene for their new show.

I saw this huge Spongebob few weeks before i learned that Kaori was coming. So before leaving the city, i knew i had to bring her to the shop [Note: Kaori is one of the biggest the biggest fan of the yellow underwater sponge]. Instead of leaving with Malaysian goodies, Kaori left our country with 2 Spongebob cups and 1 Spongebob massager. She's fanatic like that...

Next up, my first visit to Batu Caves! Random fact: my self-declared hubby, Jared Leto, paid a short visit to the Caves in 2008.

The night before, i was so paranoid about bringing my camera to the Caves. Friends told me about the monkeys there that would snatch your camera and bag when you're not looking. Heck, i was so scared, i even made my mom help me pick a handbag that is less appealing to the monkeys!

But turned out, there was no monkeys in sight. The Thaipusam crowd from a couple of days ago must have temporarily scared them away.

Ren, if we walk up and down the entire flight of stairs once every day, guarantee can lose weight and get firmer butts!

I was expecting to be greeted by an array of Hindu gods' statues but instead, was met with nothing but a small ordinary looking temple and emptiness. Lots of empty space. And because of Thaipusam, the place was insanely dirty and smelly. So bad that i almost puked thrice. Why on earth would people litter in a holy place is simply beyond my imagination!

After the rather steep climb down, it was time to reward ourselves. Japanese girls, meet the coconut.

Notice Tomomi and her peace sign? Somehow, it only works with Japanese and Koreans. Other nationalities who attempt this pose will either appear lala-ish or just plain wrong.

Guess where we went next?

Don't have the faintest idea?

Come on, work that brain!

If you still cannot guess after this next clue, please reach for your Malaysian IC and flush it down the toilet.

Yes, after many hours of walking, we still found the strength to sit through a winding road all the way up to the City of Entertainment!

Never mind that it was already 6pm and i have to go to work the next day. Genting is my mini heaven. I can never get tired of the cold and mist, and bright lights of their theme parks.

Oh Sam, i saw the laser thingie you told me about! We have to go for it one day! MAA babes, interested in another round of Genting?

Eh really? The Starbucks was there? I was not at Genting Hotel lobby though. It was in Highland Hotel which is just next to Genting Hotel.
