Nothing beats a beach holiday on a weekday because that is the best time to take in the beauty of Mother Nature and just relax. No people running about on the beach, no splashing in the water, no ice-cream man and his ever jingling bell, no beach sports - just you, a long stretch of sand and the calming sound of the waves as they hit the shore. And knowing that everyone else is working while you're enjoying life is a plus!
A friend was actually surprised when i tell her that i don't bring my laptop with me during my getaways. And why should i? I stare at the screen long enough on work days. There is so much more things to discover off the web and i have my book with me. The Internet can wait.
At the apartment where we stayed, there is no clock. Usually, we keep a watch on the table to keep tab of the time but this time around, we decided to make do with that tradition and just go with the flow. We ate when we felt hungry, slept when we were sleepy and woke up when we wanted to. It was awesome. You should try it. Live however you want to and don't let the rules of time constrain you.
And surprisingly, despite the hundred times i've walked on this stretch of beach and the many moments when i've jumped into the swimming pool, every visit to this place still gets me excited. Maybe it is the lure of the beach but i think it is mostly because of the memories that i have here. Every little corner of the resort and a particular rock on the beach brings back beautiful memories of my childhood and the people i love dearly.
I wish i can have more holidays!
